The area under the supervision of the Regional Office in Chełm, the Board of Education in Lublin, is the border area, closest to Ukraine. The outbreak of the war meant that the first refugees appeared mainly there. The need to provide education to the arriving children was a great challenge. The article presents personal reflections on those days.
