Rapidly progressing economic development, especially of industrial processing, as well as a steady increase in the number of people and urbanization processes, cause an increase in greenhouse gas emissions, which have a significant impact on global warming. Negative manifestation of economic activity are polluted surface waters, especially rivers. That is why global and local actions aiming at minimizing the effects of modern economic and urbanization processes are a significant challenge.
